How to select best travel Agency in Delhi?
Last month I was planning for my Holiday Trip to Singapore with family so I searched online to find best travel agency in Delhi. I couldn’t find any suggestion which is comprehensive and mostly gave mixed reviews about different travel agents in Delhi. So I thought to do research myself on it (Normally I don’t buy any product/service without doing research myself online, techie by heart you know. For international holidays, I believe it is better to book through travel agents rather than Do-it-yourself.
So I Googled to find out good Delhi travel agencies in Delhi for international travel, I got many names so thought of giving all a chance and select the best on my parameters of Price, Customer Service, Responsiveness & Knowledge, Availability and Credibility. I was mainly looking for Travel Agency in Delhi so that I can meet and discuss the plan.
Frankly speaking, I was bit paranoid in selecting the travel agency since I didn’t want to spoil my international trip. So in my list were MakeMytrip (MMT), Yatra, Hungrybags, Pack N Go and Dpauls.
Price: Price plays important criteria for my travel and I wanted to customize the travel plan according to my requirements. I checked with Dpauls, MMT & Yatra were reluctant in customizing the travel plan for me. I had to push them hard to get a customized quotation from them. Pack N Go & Hungrybags were more welcoming in responding to my queries and understanding my requirements. From Price’s perspective I got almost similar quotation from Hungrybags & Pack N Go Holidays with slightly lesser price by Pack N Go. Quotations from Dpauls, MMT & Yatra were high and not according to my requirements. Dpauls I think is good for their fixed departure where they offer quiet cheap prices (don’t know about quality/hotels though)
Customer Service: Customer service for all the 5 travel agencies was similar. Everyone wants to sell their services in best possible manner.
Responsiveness & Knowledge: Responsiveness also shows how good the travel agency knows about the destination they are selling. I was primarily looking for the response time to modify the holiday package as per my requirement. While Pack N Go was quick in responding back with price, MMT was last followed by Yatra, Hungrybags, Dpauls. Pack N Go sales personal was quite responsive, friendly and seemed knowledgeable. He was constantly in touch with me to discuss my travel plan. Although, Yatra & Hungrybags were also good.
Availability: In this criteria, I must say Pack N Go excelled, I once called sales rep at 10 pm and he picked the call to answer my query. I mean I didn’t want to disturb anyone but you know I wanted to know whether he will pick my call if get into any trouble during my international trip
After talking to so many travel agents I can surely say the difference in Price comes from quality of Transport and Hotels. Normally, different travel agents offer different hotels in same category. One must verify the hotel reviews through 3rd party review sites like (TripAdvisor). Prices vary a lot from Hotel to Hotel in the same star category. Also the credibility of Travel agency is important; I read a lot of negative reviews about Hungrybags which was in my final list. I finally chose Pack N Go Holidays for Obvious reasons. Goa holiday and Europe Holiday are nice plan to visit Indian beaches and Europe countries.
PS: I didn’t regret my decision. I got excellent pre-tour support, post-tour feedback call from customer care department. Also during the travel, someone from tour operations was in touch with me to make sure everything is going fine.
